I am participating in the WCC’s Working Group on Climate Change in Wuppertal, Germany. This is my latest post for The Huffington Post.
A great tragedy of our present time and context is the act of “profiting from destroying the earth.” Individuals and large corporations are making billions from this ecological vandalism. We are constantly taking the earth’s finite resources without replenishing or restoring them. We are wasting and using up our water, causing pollutants to enter our environment, without thinking about the consequences our actions may have on the earth. Nothing seems able to stop this destruction as long as corporations make a profit and powerful people live comfortable lives. Continue reading

My daughter, Elisabeth competed in the “National Association for Korean Schools Mid-Atlantic Chapter” Speech Contest on April 20th, 2013 in Philadelphia.
The contest is to write an original speech about one’s dream in life, memorize and deliver the speech in Korean. This is something which I have not been able to do as a child.
Not only did she compete in it, she placed “Gold”- First Prize! I am so proud of her. Here is her speech in English. Continue reading

I had such a terrible flu that I had no idea that snowstorm Nemo was predicted. However, when it hit, everyone in its path knew that Nemo was here.
That path was similar to the track Hurricane Sandy took just a few months ago. So those who were devastated by the hurricane were also snowed in by Nemo. Continue reading
