inWe have some really talented Presbyterian Ministers. The Rev. Bruce Reyes Chow is such a person.
He is the author of Social Media in the Church and has his google plus hangouts. On October 21, 2014, he interviewed Dr. Joseph Cheah and myself on our new co-written book, Theological Reflection on Gangnam Style.

“Don’t be so Sensitive” by Bruce Reyes-Chow
This is an excerpt from Bruce Reyes-Chow’s new book, But I Don’t See You as Asian: Curating Conversations about Race available now on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
My middle daughter, Abby, is a soccer player. She has played since kindergarten. She is also the kid that we have to constantly ask to “stop kicking the ball in the house,” as she is always dribbling some spherical item off of any and every surface she can—including off of unsuspecting sisters and parental units. I am very excited about a new upcoming book, Making Paper Cranes by Rev. Mihee Kim-Kort. I wrote a Foreword and an endorsement for this book which will be released next month.
“With this historical backdrop, Making Paper Cranes takes us on a theological journey that explores, reflects and contributes to Asian American Feminist Theology discourse through engaging literary, historical, and sociological sources. Most importantly, Kim-Kort writes from her heart as she finds herself in the statistics and dates of these literary, historical, and social narratives. Continue reading

I will never forget the answer that George W. Bush gave in an early presidential primary season debate – December 13, 1999 – when he was asked, ‘who is your favorite political philosopher’. Continue reading

inI am pleased to repost Bruce Reyes-Chow’s blog “Top Church Blogs”. I am very happy that he included me in his “Top 10 List!” Bruce Reyes-Chow is a native Northern Californian and 3rd generation Chinese/Filipino. From 2000-2011 he was the founding pastor of a 20/30-something church in SF and in 2008 was elected Moderator of the 218th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He now makes his way an adjunct seminary instructor, a writer, speaker and social media consultant.
A few weeks ago, Kent Shaffer’s Church Relevance Blog posted a list of Top 200 Church Blogs. And while I am honored to have cracked the charts at #90 the list, like Continue reading

This is a repost of my blog on Patheos. It is entitled “Through Hispanic Eyes-Theological Education and White Privilege.”
‘Puerto Rico is a beautiful island with lakes, rivers, mountains, rainforests and of course picturesque beaches. I received a warm welcome at the airport in San Juan: 92 degrees with 74% humidity. Despite the hot, humid weather conditions, I went with eagerness to explore the culture, history, and tradition of Puerto Rico and reflect upon theological education in light of Hispanic theology.’ Link
