I almost missed my flight.

I have missed a flight one time on my way to an American Academy of Religion (AAR) meeting in Atlanta.  I sat in the gate area and everyone but me and two other men boarded the plane.  I still can’t figure out how the three of us failed to hear the boarding call.

Excited for Hawaii

When I was a kid, one dollar solved everything.  My mother will pay me a dollar for doing chores.  I got paid one dollar for babysitting. I also got one dollar from the tooth fairy etc.,

So when I invited my youngest son (9 years old) to write a short blog, I offered a dollar.  Kids today know how to bargain.  He negotiated with me and we settled on seven dollars.

He started to write his blog and realized how difficult it was.  He sheepishly asked for eight dollars and he said that it will be his final offer.  I accepted. This is his blog.

I was surprised when my mother told me that I was going to Hawaii on April 9, 2012. It was so exciting so I told all my friends at school. But I still had to wait about 3 months.
