Welcome to Madang Podcast.

About Madang:

Madang is the outdoor living room of the world. Here, we invite you to sit and tune into unreserved, remarkable conversations with renown authors, leaders, public figures and scholars on religion, culture and everything in-between.

This has been a dream of mine for many years and now it is. reality. Please join me at madang.

This is the seventeenth episode of Madang where I converse with Lisa Sharon Harper who is the founder and president of FreedomRoad.us. She is a prolific speaker, writer and activist, and the author of several books, including Evangelical Does Not Equal Republican…or Democrat and Left Right and Christ: Evangelical Faith in Politics. Today she talks about her new book, Fortune: How Race Broke My Family and the World–and How to Repair It All.

Fortune helps readers understand how America was built upon systems and structures in ways that blessed some and cursed others, allowing Americans of European descent to benefit from the colonization, genocide, enslavement, rape, and exploitation of people of color.

Conversations on enslavement, indentured servants, race laws, white supremacy, forgiveness, ubuntu and so much more.

Praise for Fortune:

“Lisa Sharon Harper is a woman of faith who listens, learns and responds with creativity to the world around her. As a pilgrim in challenging times, like the early disciples, she brings insight and wisdom to the quest for justice. I especially appreciate her engagement of the issues of race in our diverse society.” Sr. Simone Campbell, Executive Director, NETWORK.
