Theology for Intercultural Ministry

Our God is Too White? Why are most churches still segregated by culture and language? Is it possible to build culturally and linguistically diverse and intercultural ministries today? What are the biblical and theological imperatives for intercultural ministry?

The Intercultural Forum is an exciting opportunity for all Christian ministers/leaders/students across South Australia to gather, learn, and share about intercultural ministry in a multicultural Australian society. During the Forum, participants will discover what opportunities and challenges our churches are facing today and explore new ways of theologising and practicing to participate in the transforming mission of God.

We are delighted to announce guest speaker, Rev Dr Grace Ji-Sun Kim, an internationally renowned scholar, writer and passionate speaker. Kim is currently the Associate Professor of Theology at Earlham School of Religion and an ordained minister of word and sacrament within the Presbyterian Church, USA. She is the author, co-author and editor of 16 books including Embracing the Other: The Transformative Spirit of Love, Intersectional Theology: An Introductory Guide, Healing Our Broken Humanity, and Intercultural Ministry. Kim served on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Religion as an At-Large Director and currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Center for Reconciliation at Duke Divinity School. She is a much sought after lecturer and has given papers/lectures throughout the United States, Korea, Myanmar, Spain, Qatar, Brazil, Switzerland, Peru, England, South Africa, Paris and Canada.

This is Grace’s first time with us in Australia!
