Rev. Jesse Jackson has been interested in peace on the Korean peninsula for some time.
On Wednesday Feb 8, 2018, we met with the World Council of Churches’ mission office in the Church Center in the UN. We also met with United Methodist mission to the UN.
In the afternoon, we met with Ambassador Nikki Haley to discuss our concern for peace in the Korean peninsula.
Rainbow PUSH had a press conference today. I shared an update of what the Korean Peace group is doing at the press conference.
Dr. Kiseong Shin is a reporter for Newsnjoy paper. Below is a very good report of our meeting on February 7, 2018 in New York City.
This second gathering of Korean leaders is a follow up meeting to our first meeting on Monday Jan 29, 2018 in New York City.
Here is a write up of that gathering in the Korea Daily News:
This meeting is a result of a conference call held in August of religious leaders, lawyers and activists who are involved in peacemaking in the Korean peninsula.
After that initial conference call, Rev. Jackson and I cowrote this Huffington Post, “Peace and Reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula.”
On Tuesday Jan 30, 2018, we met with the South Korean Ambassador Cho Tae Yul at the Korean Mission to the United Nations to discuss how we can all participate in bringing peace to the Korean peninsula.
We are continuing to move forward to help bring peace and reunification to the Korean peninsula.
Here is the write up in the Korea Daily Newspaper.
