I am excited to be part of Jesus 12 24: Return. It is an online conference and there is still time to sign up. If you sign up before Jan 14, 2018, you get a chance to win my book, Embracing the Other. Yay.

Conference is on FEB 03, 2018

DESCRIPTION

A 12 hour online conference, featuring 6 speakers from across the globe offering unique and passionate takes on Jesus. You can log on to watch live and/or download to watch later.

This is the second ever Jesus 12 24 (though unlike the first, this isn’t going 24hrs straight) but it has the additonal theme of “return”. Just where that’ll be taken… you’ll have to wait and see.

More info to come, but 4 speakers can be announced now:

Grace Ji-Sun Kim: Grace Ji-Sun Kim serves as Associate Professor of Theology at Earlham School of Religion. She holds degrees from Knox College and the University of Toronto, and is the author or editor of 12 books. Among these are Embracing the Other; The Grace of Sophia; The Holy Spirit, Chi, and the Other; and Contemplations from the Heart. Eerdmans included her in their list of Five Great Women Scholars, and the Englewood Review of Books named her in their list of Ten Important Women Theologians You Should Be Reading. Grace is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). She is married and the mother of three children.

D.L Mayfield: D.L. Mayfield is an essayist, activist and author of Assimilate or Go Home: Notes from a Failed Missionary on Rediscovering Faith (HarperOne 2016). Her writing has appeared in a variety of places, including McSweeneys, Vox, Christianity Today, and Sojourners. She is a co-founder of the Refugee and Immigrant Hospitality Organization (RIHO).

Brandi Miller: “My name is Brandi Miller I’m a 26-year-old campus minister in Eugene, Oregon, so I guess that makes me a professional Christian- God have mercy. I have spent the last chunk of years having my life wrecked by Jesus in the best way possible particularly around issues of injustice in the world, accountability to scripture, experiencing holistic personhood, and non-violence. I identify as a Black, female, Jesus follower and will talk about such matters of identity on the regular. I’m an INTP who is slowly transitioning to an ENTP…or at least I think so.”

Lauren R. E. Larkin: Reverend Lauren R. E. Larkin holds both Master of Divinity and Master of Sacred Theology degrees from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, her areas of academic focus being Biblical Studies, Systematic Theology,Gener Studies and Social Ethics. Zahl (Pickwick Publications, 2013),and Never Satisfied Until Satisfied in Thee: Finding Grace in Hamilton (ebook, forthcoming in 2017). ABOUT JESUS 12 24: RETURN

We all love (parts of) conferences. Getting to hear incredible speakers engage with topics that matter to us, offering fresh insights, blowing our minds with their passion and knowledge. We love the chance of getting to hear from someone we wouldn’t normally get the chance to hear. You know the parts we don’t tend to love? Travel, expenses, awkward small talk, having to get out of our comfy clothes. Jesus 12 24: Return is all the best parts of a conference, at a very reasonable price. Being online we are able to cut down on costs as we cut down on emissions, so we’re gathering a worldwide lineup that you’d never normally be able to get in one place at one time.  Not only that, Jesus 12 24 is the only conference where you can decide to bail the day before and still get all the great content delivered to you later. Reach out to ucamacuni@gmail.com if you have any questions.
