This is a repost of a blog posted in FSR.  If you are attending the American Academy of Religion this year, please drop by the FSR banquet November 21, 2014.

Hope to see many of you there!

Grading, class preparation, meetings, packing, shifting the schedule of events, last minute revisions to papers, and rushing to the airport . . . Whew, #AARSBL14 is right around the corner and we are feeling the stress with one month to go! And yet, every year it ends up being a wonderful chance to catch up with friends and colleagues, meet new friends, learn a few new things, and try out our own ideas.

In the spirit of collaborative learning, we want to hear from you: what’s the importance of feminist/womanist work in religious and theological studies (consider issues like ongoing violence against women and children, campus sexual assault, religious fundamentalism, war, pedagogy, women of color marginalization, lack/stereotyping of women’s voices in leadership)?

This year is extra special as JFSR is celebrating 30 Years. So please come share your response and reflections at the 30th Anniversary reception for the Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion on Friday, November 21st from 8:30pm-10:30pm in the Point Loma Room at the Marriott Marquis and Marina.

The Feminism in Religion Forum blog members are creating an archive of feminist/womanist voices in religious and theological studies. Come with a prepared answer or speak the wisdom that comes in the moment. We will have a recording device with video and microphone ready to capture your thoughts on: the importance of feminist/womanist work in religious and theological studies (consider issues like ongoing violence against women and children, campus sexual assault, religious fundamentalism, war, pedagogy, women of color marginalization, lack/stereotyping of women’s voices in leadership).kate

The videos will be linked on our website for use in classrooms, for other bloggers, and just for general conversation. If you cannot attend, but want to contribute a video, please feel free to record your own video and send us either a link or the file at fir(at)fsrinc.org.

We are looking forward to seeing you in San Diego!
