My son is co-founder and co-captain of the Liberty Highschool Robotic’s Club. Here is a write up of their team, their achievements and their goals for The Express-Times. This is written By Sienna Mae Heath on May 26, 2014 at 2:30 PM.
“Each year the field changes (in the competitions). This year it’s called Skyrise,” co-captain Isabel Stoeckley said. “It’s more of a height competition than it was last year.”
Their robot is tasked with lifting cubes with no side panels over the top of poles, dropping the cubes down and stacking them on the poles. The Bethlehem high school team collected $1,000 on the fundraising website Kickstarter to pay for the parts. The team formed in October. Its first-generation robot was awarded Tournament Champion and an Excellence Award at the Western PA Regional Vex Competition in Pittsburgh.
